It is imperative that all Christians around the world pray for Muslims during the month of Ramadan and throughout the whole year.
Many Muslims are coming to Christ than ever before, many after seeing visions and dreams of Jesus. (For more, see Tom Doyle’s excellent book or DVD, Dreams and Visions.)
More Muslims around the world have become Christians in the last fifteen years than in the previous fifteen centuries.
WHY PRAY FOR MUSLIMS ESPECIALLY DURING THE RAMADA
According to Muslims, the Prophet Muhammad received the first of his revelations from the archangel Gabriel in the year AD 610.
As a result, observant Muslims mark this event each year by fasting during the entire month. From sunup to sundown, seeking to shed away their sins through acts of restraint. They believe this is a time of purification accomplished through good deeds and self -control; they abstain from food, drink, smoking, and sexual relations. They believe that spiritual rewards for good deeds are multiplied during the 30 days, so they are especially focusing on prayer and worship; they are most open to God. This is a strategic time for the body of Christ and especially for the Watchmen to pray for the Muslim people of the world; they are reachable through the power of prayer. As Open Doors founder Brother Andrew says, “Our prayers can go where we cannot. While many things may seem impossible from a human standpoint, in the realm of prayer there are no impossibilities.” Only God knows the answers to our prayers as we have joined together around a common theme. Let us believe God for mighty things as we join together to focus on Him during this annual prayer time – and throughout the year – for the Muslim world.
Missionaries to the Muslim world report miraculous movements of God’s Spirit during these 30 days. The Lord wants us not to fear Muslims but to love them and to intercede for them every day. He intends for the world to be “filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea” (Habakkuk 2:14). His Spirit is working powerfully to bring Muslims to Jesus.
That’s how we can help. That’s where we come in.
